Marketing for new business ideas can be both exciting and frustrating all at the same time. If you are relatively new to online business, then trial and error can be a costly exercise if you allow it. In this post I wanted to share some ideas that will hopefully, give you a better experience.
I understand businesses want results fast. If you are prepared to pay the big bucks or have a healthy budget for marketing, then lucky you. But make sure you know what you are doing if you are putting that money into pay per click campaigns on Google.
Or if you are using a reputable company that is successfully getting traffic to your business. Your money can be gone in no time if you don’t know what you are doing, so truly be careful if paying for advertising.
No.1 You must Focus on 1 Method
The key to getting regular traffic and leads to your website is to be consistent with your efforts. Sometimes people have to see an offer or some form of advertising 7 times before they act on it. So don’t give up. And when you nail one method, keep doing it, and move on and learn another.
Ideally you want a good number of marketing campaigns running on all types of social media and your website visible on search engines. And if you can do this with low-cost methods or even for free then kudos to you.
Yes it will take time, but if you get your product or service in front of the right niche, you will have an audience and making money in no time!
No.2 Social Media and Networking Sites
Here is a list of the more popular social media and networking sites. I have also included the estimated active users on these sites. Having members on Social Media sites is one thing, however knowing they are active daily is key for getting them in front of your business.
With over 1 ½ billion users monthly, Facebook is probably the most effective site for your free and paid marketing strategies. Of course learning how to get it in front of your targeted audience is vital as many people do go onto Facebook just to socialise.
Over 555 million users monthly.
This very popular platform has over 400 million uses and seems to be rising rapidly. If you have a business that can you can market through good images then Instagram could be right up your alley!
Twitter has over 320 million users monthly. Definitely not my favourite but as you can see is widely used. I find media and celebrities turn to Twitter to announce something that will inform their followers.
Over 300 million users. As Google loves Google, this is the place to be sharing your blog posts and anything that can become a link and message (your website and meta description). So if you are blogging make sure you share on Google+ as well.
And also, anyone who is connected to you in Google+ will see your posts first from their Google Search. #winwin
Has over 200 million monthly users and keep in mind, not all of those are kids! So learning about Snapchat and how you can brand and market your business is another avenue you can try.
Over 100 million users on Pinterest makes for a lot of image sharing! Great place to market and show off your wares.
100 million users plus on Linkedin however in a business environment as opposed to a socially fun site like Facebook. Great for networking with other like-minded business owners.

Over 25 million active users.
No.3 Email Campaigns and Building Your Loyal List
You can develop different email campaigns or have an optin form for your visitors to get ongoing correspondence from you. If you have written up new posts or just have great information to share then setting up emails is a great way to go.
This way you can continually share value to your audience and have links back to your site and offers. MailChimp is a free service you can use for this or there are paid and more advanced auto responder providers like GetResponse and Aweber.
Whichever you use the idea is to be in regular contact with your audience. After all, they opted into what you had to offer so you are filling their need.
No.4 Having Your Own Website
If you have joined an mlm you tend to be given a replicated website that is just like all the other distributors in your organisation. Imagine having your own website where you could easily design and add to on a regular basis. And imagine those posts you write about your product or service, suddenly being found on Google? For free!

No.5 Be Patient!
Patience and perseverance with a new business is truly key. Guess what? Rome wasn’t built in a day and your business will not be either.
I always see people over estimate what they earn short term, (meaning they expect so much for so little time spent), and underestimate what they could make long term, (you will be surprised how your business and income grows if you just keep at it!)
So buckle up and enjoy the ride because it will be a bumpy one. But if you trust the process – providing you are in a good reputable program or business – and stay consistent, then your efforts will be rewarded.
